Several years, 15 houses and 3 states later I was 15 in Arizona, where life takes a turn for the interesting. My feet sustained severe injuries, after a recreational vehicle accident. Through prayer, fasting, and priesthood power I was alive with both feet and eventually able to walk again. Several doctors told us, I would never ride horses competitively or dance again.
Long story short, I sometimes struggle with authority... but felt I should eventually buy my own horse and compete and I did at 18, when I also began attending ASU and eventually majored in Biomedical Engineering with some dance classes sprinkled in between the grind.
I feel blessed to have been able to chase several dreams the last few years. After fulfilling the dream of becoming a horseback riding World Champion, and finishing my BSE, I eventually felt called to serve a mission right in the second to last semester of my Masters. The call came and I will be serving in Seoul, South Korea, and I couldn't be more excited.
I bare witness that Jesus is the Christ. I have felt his love as I have applied the atonement in my life. He truly bore our grief and carried our sorrows, and knows how to comfort us if we will open our hearts to let him in. I testify that God restored his gospel to the earth through an uneducated farm boy, through small and simple means are great things brought to pass. Furthermore, that gospel can be found through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Heavenly Father, loves us and has a plan for each of us individually and it is truly a plan for happiness in this life and the next, if we are willing to listen to it with our hearts. I bare this witness in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
